NBA Premium Play 02/03: Miami Heat @ Toronto Raptors

NBA - 805 Miami Heat @ 806 Toronto Raptors

Projected Line: Miami by 8 points

I believe Miami is going to have an easy win today at Toronto, after another loss, this time at Indiana. The Heat tried to pack the paint to stop the Pacers's offense, but they gave space to the outside and Indiana used that to shoot 7-17 3pts! Miami couldn't stop the red hot Pacers offense and David West was amazing with 12-15 FG, 6-6 FT and 5 assists, while taking advantage of Miami's main defensive weakness: post up defense, where they are just #20 with 0.85 PPP allowed! After losing against the Pacers, I expect Miami to come to this game against the Raptors quite focused and considering the fact that Toronto is currently in rebuilding mode, I don't see how they will be competitive against a focused Heat team. Their starting PG Jose Calderon is gone, their starting PF Ed Davis is gone, Rudy Gay is still adapting to the new team, Jonas Valanciunas only returned from injury on the team's last game and it seems Andrea Bargnani will be returning on this game. It's just too many changes in such a short span of time.

Of course that Toronto is coming from a huge win over the Clippers, however the LA team showed no effort in that game. If Aaron Gray is part of the starting lineup on this game, he will get crushed by the speed of Miami's players. When Lebron James or Dwayne Wade penetrate into the basket, Gray won't be able to offer some help to his teammates, as he is too slow for that. Amir Johnson is a solid player, but he isn't David West to torch the Heat's defense on post up plays. Miami had to play overtime at home on their last game against Toronto, but the circumstances of that game were very different. Miami was coming back home from a road trip, where they had played at LA against the Lakers on the trip's last game. They had 5 days off prior to that game against the Raptors and so, they overlooked their lowly opponent. With that, the Raptors had a monster game with 14-31 3pts, while Jose Calderon and Ed Davis having big games and they're gone now. Also Miami shot a terrible 24-38 FT, but now on bounce back mode, I believe they will crush the Raptors and get an easy win. I'm taking the Heat in here.

Pick: 3 units (Single Dime Play) on 805 Miami Heat (-4,5) @ -110 / 1.91 on 5Dimes
