NBA - 551 Boston Celtics @ 552 Charlotte Bobcats
Projected Line: 185 points
***DOUBLE DIME PLAY***
Well, I would like to know how Charlotte is going to score points against the elite defense of the Celtics tonight! We already know that the Bobcats have no offensive talent down low whatsoever. Their most talented frontcourt player is Byron Mullens and he is allergic to play near the basket. This turns Charlotte into a very dependent team from what their guards can do and when a team is shooting 29.1% 3pts on their last 10 games, that team is in huge trouble!
Ramon Sessions is still injured, so the Bobcats only have Kemba Walker as their unique ball handler. In fact, Kemba Walker, Ben Gordon and Gerald Henderson are the only legit offensive players they have right now! On their last game at Washington, the Bobcats were able to score 87 points mostly thanks to Kemba Walker, who had 11-25 FG, 3-9 3pts and 4-5 FT for 29 points! The problem for tonight's game is that both Kemba Walker and Gerald Henderson will have to face the Celtics's excellent backcourt defense! With Avery Bradley and Courtney Lee, the Celtics simply don't allow points on pick and roll ball handler plays! They are by far the best defensive team in the league on this area and pick and roll ball handler plays is actually the only efficient area of the Bobcats's offense, where they are #4 in the league with 0.84 PPP!
On the last game between these two teams, Charlotte actually defeated Boston by 94-91 due to some excellent play from Kemba Walker, Gerald Henderson, Ramon Sessions and especially Byron Mullens, who had 10-16 FG, 25 points and 18 rebounds! However, there is a simple reason for such poor defensive showing of the Celtics in that game, as they had no legs after playing a triple overtime game against Denver on the day before. That won't happen today and so, with the Bobcats's guards being limited, Charlotte doesn't have any talent left to perform offensively. On the other side, this isn't a great spot for Boston, as they will play their fifth game in eight days, including an overtime win at home against Atlanta on Friday, travel to Oklahoma City on Saturday and face the Thunder on early Sunday. We know that Boston is basically a jump shooting team, so they might struggle a bit on their shooting from the outside tonight. As Boston uses an undersized lineup, they won't crush Charlotte down low, so I expect the Bobcats to hold the Celtics to respectable numbers tonight. Therefore, I see this game being a low scoring game and so, I'll be taking the Under in here on a Double Dime Play!
Pick: 4 units (Double Dime Play) on 551/552 Under 190,5 @ -110 / 1.91 on 5Dimes
