San Francisco was on a tough spot yesterday due to finishing a series in Houston and then playing an early game in Chicago in the following day and that was the main reason why they lost the first game of the series. They'll start Lincecum today and he has been very inconsistent this season. On his last outing, he allowed three runs in five innings against Atlanta. He hasn't been as great this season as usual, however he allowed just 1, 4, 3 and 1 runs on his outings in August. Therefore, he hasn't been that terrible lately and therefore, he should be able to handle the Cubs today.
On the other hand, the Cubs will start Germano, who is coming from two losses in a row against Milwaukee, where he allowed 12 runs in 9.2 innings over his last two outings. He lost his surprise edge from his first two starts and he has been struggling. Against a powerful lineup like the Giants, he will struggle once again.
With San Francisco having a SP edge, a clear bullpen edge and also a strong hitting edge, I believe the Giants will have an easy win today and so, I'll take them in here.
