MLB - 925 Minnesota Twins @ 926 Kansas City Royals (Starting Pitchers: E. Vasquez vs L. Mendoza) Minnesota will debut Vasquez today, who had some great numbers in Triple-A with 4-2 as a starter, while posting a 2.87 ERA, 3.66 FIP and a 98/39 K/BB ratio in 100.1 innings. He was going to start for the Twins early on the season but only an injury prevented him from doing that. He looks to be having a great season and therefore, I expect him to be able to have a great debut today. The Royals will start Mendoza, who is coming from allowing six earned runs in five innings against Detroit. He has been struggling this season with a 4.51 ERA and 1.43 WHIP plus his advanced numbers on his last five outings weren't good at all (10.80 ERA/4.70 FIP/4.16 xFIP, 4.15 ERA/6.56 FIP/ 9.27 xFIP, 2.57 ERA/4.10 FIP/4.13 xFIP, 4.50 ERA/3.27 FIP/4.00 xFIP and 4.91 ERA/6.10 FIP/3.56 xFIP), so I don't expect him to dominate the Twins lineup, who has been looked much better on this series with some great hitting. I believe Vasquez has the conditions to have a good debut today and with the help of the Twins lineup who has been hitting very well in this series, I expect Minnesota to have a great shot of pulling the upset today, therefore I'll take Minnesota in here.
