Detroit bounced back yesterday with a good win after a bad road trip. They'll start Scherzer tonight and he has been a top 3 SP in the league lately, as in August he had a 2.25 ERA, 2.51 FIP and 2.53 xFIP, with a great number of strikeouts. The fact that he allowed just one run against the Angels lineup on his last start says everything about him.
The White Sox will be starting Liriano tonight and he has been good on a White Sox uniform. He allowed just two runs in every of his last three starts, however he keeps struggling on his commend and that doesn't allow him to go deep in the league with just 6.1, 6.0 and 5.0 IP on his last three starts. He is yet to face Detroit this season, but he has terrible numbers against the Tigers roster with .310 BA and .899 OPS in 197 AB's. With the White Sox bullpen being tired due to the SP's leaving the game only after 3.2 and 6.0 innings on the last two days, I believe Detroit has a great spot to have a good offensive game tonight.
With Detroit having a good offensive spot tonight and with Scherzer in the mount, I believe the Tigers will have an easy win tonight and so, I'll be taking them in here.
