MLB - 969 Baltimore Orioles @ 970 New York Yankees
(Starting Pitchers: W. Chen vs D. Phelps)
The Yankees lost their first game of this series yesterday and their offense has been a continuous letdown lately. However, I believe in a bounce back from the NY team in today's early game. The Orioles will star Chen and he has been very inconsistent this season. He is coming from an outing last Monday against the White Sox, where he allowed two runs, while having a 8/1 K/BB ratio. However, he has been alternating good outings with poor ones and August was the month where he was the most hittable with a .286 BA! Therefore, I believe the Yankees should be able to make some damage on Chen today with their patient hitting.
Phelps will be the Yankees' SP for today and he is coming from allowing two homeruns against Toronto in 6.1 innings. However, he has been doing a good job as a SP and he keeps being very good against RH batters with a 2.98 FIP and 3.07 xFIP, something that will be very helpful for him today against the Orioles. I like the bounce back spot for the Yankees today and therefore, I'll be taking them in here.
