Projected line: Golden State by 8 points
Utah is coming from a very physical game against the Clippers, like I've said in the writeup of the Denver/Clippers game and for tonight, I expect them to struggle physically, especially with Harris being banged up and both Watson and Bell out for this game! So, for tonight, Utah will just have a banged up Harris, Hayward, Tinsley and the rookie Burks in the backcourt! Considering, they will face Ellis and Curry, this is just not enough to handle the Warriors backcourt tonight! Utah on back to back games is averaging this season 101.5 on offensive rates and 101.8 on defensive rates!
On the other side, Golden State is coming from a close home win against Sacramento, where they struggle, with a combined shooting from Ellis and Curry of 6-24 FG! The solution for that game came from the 2nd unit, as Nate, Rush, Thompson, McGuire and Uhoh turned a nervously close game into a win for the Warriors, as their bench outscored the Kings bench by 43-21! In the fourth quarter, Golden State’s bench outscored the Kings’ starters 25-11. Jackson sat his starting guards the entire fourth quarter, save for the final seconds when he brought Curry in to shoot free throws! So, the Warriors are very rested for today and they will be all over the tired legs of the Jazz players!
I don't believe both Monta and Curry will have another bad game, especially against a shorthanded and tired Jazz backcourt. In the last game between these two teams, Utah won at Golden State by 88-87, but it was a back to back game for both teams and Curry was out due to injury. Golden State is struggling with the rebounds, but against a tired team of Utah, I don't expect that mismatch to be so clear. Therefore, I expect the energy of the Warriors to completely outplay a tired Utah team and get a clear win today. So, I'll take Golden State tonight.
