Cleveland is coming from a good game yesterday, where they managed to stay competitive at Miami until the 4th quarter! They had an edge on boards, with 15 offensive rebounds and they had a good volume at the rim with 20-35 FG! 57% FG may not be excellent, but the good volume compensates that. Their problem was the outside game with 0-3 FG 10-15 feet, 2-16 FG 16-23 feet and 7-19 3pts! For today, they will be playing a back to back game, with their 5 starters having played more the 30 minutes, especially Jamison who played 34 minutes and he has just been shooting 38% FG on back to back games this season and today he will have a bad matchup against Griffin, so I expect him to struggle today. Cleveland continues to have problems at the SG position, with both Gibson and Parker still hurting and so, the Cavs had to play Gee at SG in Miami, with him having to play 35 minutes and spent a lot of energy in guarding Wade and Lebron!
On the other side, the Clippers are coming from a nice win at Orlando, but with the bad news that Billups is out for the season. I expect an emotional answer from the team tonight! The Clippers have the ability of stopping the rim offense of the Cavs, who is in a bad physical spot for tonight! Without Billups, the Clippers will still use a 2 guards rotation and Cleveland doesn't have personnel to attack that, as they are basically without natural SG players right now! Griffin will have a physical edge over Jamison and Jordan should be able to guard well Varejao! But the key in here will be CP3 vs Irving. CP3 is an excellent defensive player and he will put problems to Irving in both ends of the floor. Cleveland struggles in defending pick and roll plays (#23 with 0.85 PPP) and they will face the best P&R team in the league with CP3! I like the physical + emotion spot for the Clippers in here and so, I'll take them in here on a Double Dime Play, splitting the wager from half time and full time spread! I'll also take the under in here, considering the Cavs poor spot and the very tough matchup the Clippers defense will give to them tonight!
