Orlando at Indiana
NBA - 501 Orlando Magic @ 502 Indiana Pacers
Projected line: 183 points
Orlando has no problems in stopping the Cavaliers offense last night until the end of the 3rd quarter, with Howard being more active on defense by limiting the Cavs points near the basket! Offensively, Orlando did well as Cleveland didn't put any pressure on the Magic guards (an area where Orlando has struggled recently). The Magic also committed a season low of 5 turnovers and with the Cavaliers being completely focused on Howard, they left open space for the Magic shooters, therefore Hedo, J Rich and Anderson all had a good night! Even though Orlando is coming from a very low turnover night and Indiana doesn't force a lot of turnovers, the truth is that the Pacers have aggressive guards, especially Collison. With the late push from Cleveland in the 4th quarter, Orlando used 4 of their starters for more than 32 minutes. After the game, the Magic were off to Cincinnati before playing in Indianapolis tonight. With the Super Bowl being held in Indy, the team wasn’t able to get a hotel. Instead they get to make the 2.5 hour drive into Indianapolis before the game, so they won't be on a good spot for tonight's game.
On the other side, Indiana is coming from a huge win at Dallas, where the Pacers basically didn't rotate the bench, with all starters playing more than 33 minutes, including Paul George, who had a monster game 11-19 FG 7-11 3pts 30pts 9reb 5ast 5stl in 41 minutes! Indiana dominated the boards, but they didn't shoot well near the basket, even though their 12-25 3pts shooting night helped them in getting the win. Both teams have tough spots for tonight, with Orlando playing their 3rd game in 4 nights and Indiana their 4th game in 5 days, while being on a back to back games that involved travelling! This will be the third game between these two teams, with each team winning one of the games. The two games ended with 191 and 185 points, with in the first game Orlando shooting 5-8 FG from 16-23 feet and 13-32 3pts, while in the second Indiana shot 7-18 FG from 16-23 feet and 8-17 3pts (Orlando 10-23 3pts!). With both teams having a strong defensive frontcourt, they will need their outside game working and considering their tough spots, I don't see that happening today. So, I'll take the under in here.
