(Starting Pitchers: J. De La Rosa vs F. Liriano)
Colorado finally won a game yesterday, so this is a bounce back spot for Pittsburgh today. They'll be facing Jorge De La Rosa today, who is a LH pitcher, so he will be a good matchup for the Pirates, who are #5 in the league on hitting against LH pitchers, while they are also hitting .333 BA against them on their last 10 games! De La Rosa generally struggles against RH batters (.315 wOBA, 3.72 FIP and 4.02 xFIP), so this is the perfect storm for us to see Pittsburgh scoring a good number of runs tonight.
On the other side, Francisco Liriano keeps dominating the league. He had a bad outing at Cincinnati, but then he bounced back with dominant starts at Washington and then at home against the Cardinals with 8/3 and 8/2 K/BB ratios! Liriano's only problem is on walking batters, but Colorado is #27 in the league over the last 30 days on BB% with 6.8%, so they aren't patient enough to make Liriano struggle. Therefore, I expect an easy win for the Pirates tonight and so, I'll be taking them on the runline in here.
