MLB - 963 Toronto Blue Jays @ 964 Oakland Athletics

(Starting Pitchers: R. Dickey vs B. Colon)

Toronto showed some good offense yesterday, with nice power even though they were playing at Oakland that has a pitcher-friendly park. The Blue Jays will start R.A. Dickey today, who allowed five runs in seven innings against Houston last Friday. Dickey has currently a 23/6 K/BB ratio over 18 innings (last three starts), but he has also allowed five home runs in those games. He also faced the red hot Indians and Rays, so his schedule wasn't exactly easy. Now at Oakland, a pitcher-friendly park, I believe Dickey won't suffer with homeruns today, so he should have a good outing today.

Bartolo Colon will start for Oakland today and he is coming from an outing against the Angels, where he had some luck, as he had a 3.00 ERA in that game, while having a 5.54 FIP and 5.69 xFIP! Colon throws 85% fastballs and Toronto's offense has been great lately by being #2 in the league over the past two weeks and #5 over the past month! I believe Colon will struggle today with the red hot Blue Jays, while Dickey should have a good outing today. Therefore, I believe Toronto will be competitive today and so, I'll be taking them in here.

MLB - 953 St Louis Cardinals @ 954 Pittsburgh Pirates

(Starting Pitchers: A. Wainwright vs J. Locke)

Jeff Locke will start for Pittsburgh tonight and he is coming from two runs allowed against Miami in 6.2 innings last Friday. This was a poor overall outing for Locke, as he walked six batters! This was the fourth game in a row where he walked three or more batters! He had a season high 108 pitches in that game and he had just 4 days of rest for tonight's game, so this is a terrible spot for him. On the other side, Adam Wainwright allowed four runs (three earned) in seven innings against Atlanta last Friday. He couldn't handle the red hot Braves, but he still had a great command with 8/1 K/BB! I believe St Louis will have a clear SP edge for tonight and with the Cardinals needing a win in here, as they are down 0-3 in the series, I believe they will come fired up and finally pick up a win in this series. Therefore, I'll be taking the Cardinals in here.
