These two teams know each other very well, so there won't be any surprises on this matchup. We have in here a bad physical spot for both teams. Boston had a home game last Friday against Portland and they had to travel to LA for an early game today. On the other hand, the Lakers are coming from a 3-game road trip in Detroit, Washington and Minnesota. We can expect a super slow half court game in here, as it's the normal style of both teams. I know that the Lakers have a huge size edge down low and they will certainly dominate the glass today. However, scoring down low will be a completely different thing as Boston is just allowing 58% FG at the rim this season and just 56% FG since the All Star break! The Lakers' offensive flow is close to non-existent right now and Boston's great defense will certainly get the upperhand in here over the Lakers unimpressive offense. On the other side, Boston doesn't have a decent bench right now and they lack in-game consistency. I believe the Celtics will have some good runs on this contest, but they will also have some stretches with zero offense. Bottom line, I expect both defenses to get the upperhand over the struggling offenses of their opponents on this contest. As I believe the pace of this game will be super slow, I came up with a totals projection of 176 points, low enough for me to take the Under in here.
