Oklahoma City has the best record in the league and they have been winning all their games against top teams, but they have been playing hero ball on the offensive end, trusting on their stars to win the games down the stretch. In their last three games, they have just dished 15, 17 and 14 assists, for a super low A/rates of 39, 51 and 41%, a clear sign of a lack of decent ball movement! That was clear yesterday in the last plays of their game against the Grizzlies, where they based their game solely on isolation plays! The Thunder ended the game with 9-16 FG on ISO plays and 4-9 FG on spot up plays! Fortunately for them, they have Durant and Westbrook, but depending solely on individual plays won't be working well for them today, as they will be playing their 3rd game in 4 nights, with Durant having played 44 minutes yesterday and Westbrook 42 minutes! Sooner or later, the Thunder will implode and tonight at San Antonio, the spot is perfect for exactly that to happen!
The Spurs have the best bench in the league and this may be vital for them tonight, as I wouldn't be surprised if they put an extra gear on their 2nd unit tonight! San Antonio has an excellent ball movement and they will punish the tired legs of Oklahoma City and recently, the Clippers have done exactly that to them, with a red hot outside game. This will be exactly the same gameplan for the Spurs tonight! Early on the season, the Thunder pounded the Spurs at home by 108-96, with both teams being on bad spots on that game, as it was a back to back game for both teams, with San Antonio coming from a brutal physical game against Denver in the previous day, no wonder the team got tired and folded in the 2nd half (21-37 in the 3rd quarter!). Today, it's time for the same thing to happen to the Thunder and so, I'll take San Antonio in here.
