WNBA Free Premium Play 08/23: Seattle Storm @ Phoenix Mercury

WNBA - 657 Seattle Storm @ 658 Phoenix Mercury

Projected Line: 154 points

Seattle is currently 3-0 against Phoenix this season, with the third win costing the job of Corey Gaines as the Mercury's Head Coach. So, we can consider tonight's game as a big revenge game for Phoenix. The Mercury's offense has been more dynamic lately with an intention to play inside out with Brittney Griner and Candice Dupree on the frontcourt, while Diana Taurasi leads the backcourt. Thanks to this, Phoenix scored 42, 44 and 46 points in the paint on their last three games! On the other side, on their last game against Seattle, Taurasi had a terrible game with 2-11 FG and 6 turnovers. She'll be fired up tonight and so, I expect Phoenix to have a good offensive game in here.

On the other side, Phoenix's defense started their new era with a new coach in good form by allowing just 67, 56 and 58 points, but they have already allowed 88 and 86 points on their last two games, including allowing 88 points to the terrible offense of the Silver Stars! The current totals line of 150.5 seems too low for the fired up Mercury that will try to push up the pace against the slow footed Storm. Therefore, I'll be taking the Over in here.

WNBA Free Premium Play 07/20: Los Angeles Sparks @ Seattle Storm

WNBA - 655 Los Angeles Sparks @ 656 Seattle Storm

Projected Line: 154 points

The first thing that comes to my mind about this game is that this isn't a good physical spot for the Sparks. They had back to back games at home against Atlanta and Phoenix, while they will play tonight at Seattle on their third game in four nights! The Sparks surprisingly lost at home against Phoenix, so they won't come relaxed for tonight's game. They will come fired up and completely focused for this game.

Seattle's defense isn't that amazing elite defense that it was in the previous seasons and they allowed Tulsa to shoot 57.4% FG on their last game. The Storm are #9 in the league on defensive rating with 103.2 and the main reason for these defensive problems are related with their lack of inside presence, as in order to defend their opponents down low, they need to foul and this is why they are the team in the league that allows more FT attempts to their opponents with an incredible 32% FT rate! This is especially worrying against the LA Sparks, whose offense is #2 in the league on this department.

So, the question in here will be Seattle's offense. The Storm will be looking for a bounce back after a pathetic 59 points scored against Tulsa on their last game and so, we can expect Seattle to be aggressive tonight and try to get more FT attempts than usual against the tired Sparks, who are on a tough spot tonight. Therefore, I believe this game will actually be a relatively high scoring game and so, I'll be taking the Over in here.

WNBA Premium Play 07/17: Tulsa Shock @ Seattle Storm

WNBA - 601 Tulsa Shock @ 602 Seattle Storm

Projected Line: 138 Points

***DOUBLE DIME PLAY***

Tulsa will be without Skylar Diggins today and even though the team's shooting won't get worse because of that as Diggins is shooting around 30's% FG this season, the truth is that she is the only player in the team that is averaging more than 3 assists per game with 4.8 assists/game! Tulsa is the worst defensive team in the league and they struggled on their last two games, where they had defensive ratings of 122.6 and 112.9. However, they faced the #1 and #2 offenses in the league in the LA Sparks and Minnesota. The Shock couldn't stop the opponents' explosiveness and allowed 22 and 21 fast break points in those games.

On the other side, Seattle's defense is being phenomenal lately by averaging a 91.2 defensive rating over their last six games! Their offense has been poor as usual (just 8 assists against Atlanta) and they keep playing at a very slow pace by being dead last in pace factor in the league. Therefore, we can expect today's game to be a half court contest as usual in Seattle's games. This will favor Tulsa, as they won't be their awful transition defense being exposed today, as Seattle is dead last on fast break points scored per game. On the other side, Tulsa's offense in halfcourt without their starting PG promises to be a disaster today, especially against Seattle's elite defense.

This will be the third game of the season between these two teams, with the Shock having won the first two. Both games were slow paced contests with pace factors of 66.7 and 72.6, both below Tulsa's season pace. The first game had just 125 points scored, while on the second game Tulsa had their best offensive game of the season with 92 points scored and 128 offensive ratings, but that was a back to back game for Seattle, who was coming from playing a tough game at San Antonio the day before. Seattle's coach tends to overuse their players and the Storm just couldn't be competitive on the second day of a back to back. This time, I expect today's game to be played at a similar pace, something that puts a lot of pressure on both offenses in order to perform well enough for them to score a combined of 145 points. Tulsa's defense will be better today than they were on the two previous games, as Seattle's offense is very far from the level of the LA Sparks and Minnesota. On the other hand, Tulsa's offense will also struggle today on halfcourt sets and without their starting PG. Therefore, I see this game being a very low scoring contest and so, I'll be taking the Under in here on a Double Dime Play!

WNBA Premium Play 06/14: Seattle Storm @ Atlanta Dream

WNBA - 603 Seattle Storm @ 604 Atlanta Dream

Projected Line: 145 points

Atlanta continues having some huge problems on their outside shooting. They don't attempt a lot of treys, but when they attempt, they miss them: 16-64 (25%) 3pts this season! Sancho Lyttle is now gone for the Eurobasket, so the Dream have now one less option to score points on the down low. Atlanta need to create transition points and this will be tough against Seattle, who play on a halfcourt style. The Storm allowed just 4 fast break points on each of their last two games!

On the other side, Seattle simply lacks offensive talent. They are an undersized team, so they will struggle in scoring down low against Atlanta, while they also struggle on their shooting: 0-17 3pts on their last game! Atlanta's defense has been great this season, so I expect them to shutdown Seattle's offense tonight, turning this game into a very low scoring contest. Therefore, I'll be taking the Under in here.
