Atlanta will be motivated for tonight, as they will be trying to avoid a franchise-worst road losing streak with a defeat tonight. Their offense struggled for most of the season and they averaged an offensive rate of 89.5 over a span of 7 games, but they have since bounced back by averaging a 107.7 offensive rate on their last 5 games! One of the keys for this offensive improvement was the return of Guard Tiffany Hayes, who has been a big boost on the team's shooting, as she is shooting 20-32 FG on the team's last four games! The Dream keep attacking on their usual style of being aggressive to grab FT and also force turnovers to score easy transition points. Therefore, they are a terrible matchup for Washington, so no wonder that Atlanta has won their first three games of the season against the Mystics with all wins coming from double digits points! Washington is #10 in the league in TO/rate and that is the kiss of death against Atlanta, who forced 21, 15 and 17 turnovers on the first three games between these two teams this season.

On the last game between these two teams, Atlanta easily won by 76-58, with Washington showing no aggression and having just 10 FT attempts. I expect the Mystics to be much more aggressive tonight. The first three games between these two teams this season were played on a fast pace and I expect a similar pace for tonight's contest, with Atlanta showing their improved offense and with Washington being much more aggressive at home. The first three games had totals lines of 162.5, 157 and 157 points, so with tonight's line being set at a much lower level, I believe we have great value in taking the Over in here in a Double Dime Play!

Atlanta keeps being without two of their key players: Tiffany Hayes and Sancho Lyttle. Their style involved little shooting percentage, but a lot of aggressiveness! They are #1 in the league on paint in the paint with 38.9 ppg and also #1 in the league on offensive rebounding with 31.7%! Now against the Mercury, I believe Atlanta will be able to explore these two edges very well, as Penny Taylor is out for tonight's game, while Britney Griner keeps being physically limited:

"She could only play four minutes a quarter," coach Corey Gaines said."

Therefore, Atlanta's offense won't have problems tonight, with Erika De Souza crushing a limited Britney Grinner, while Angel McCoughtry will have loads of space to easily penetrate into the basket. On the other side, Phoenix's offense will also produce some offense as usual. These two teams are the fastest teams in the league in terms of pace factor, so I expect this game to be a super fast paced game, where both teams will produce some good offense, especially the Dream with their edges down low. Therefore, I'll be taking both Atlanta and the Over in here.

Atlanta played at Seattle without three of their key players and they were able to hang around until halftime. But then, of course, with their coach using basically only six players on the rotation, they had no legs during the second half.

"I thought for the personnel we have on the floor right now, we really generated a lot of energy." said Atlanta Coach Fred Williams. "But in the fourth quarter, we ran out of gas. We had some open shots but didn't put those down."

The Dream were missing Angel McCoughtry with a strained achilles, Sancho Lyttle and Tiffany Hayes. This is worrying for the Dream because they had 7 days off before their game at Seattle, but now the shorthanded Dream will be on a much tougher spot. Besides that, the game against the Storm was played at a really slow pace (70.0) and if they were tired with 7 days of rest and playing at a really slow pace, now imagine how tired they will quickly become on a fast paced game against the Sparks?

Atlanta's defense has been struggling on transition plays and if that wasn't exposed by the slow Storm (who scored just 4 fast break points), Minnesota took advantage of that with 23 fast break points, San Antonio 19 fast break points and Washington 25 fast break points! The Sparks are pure machines on transitions with 16.1 fast break points per game (#1 in the league) and they will pound Atlanta tonight. LA has been crushing everybody at home with an average score of 89.3-66.5 and they will face Atlanta on their worst moment of the season, shorthanded and with their best player banged up. Atlanta will only have Erika de Souza as a big offensive threat today, but with no help on the perimeter, she will also struggle. Therefore, I expect an easy blowout win for the Sparks tonight and so, I'll be taking them in here.

Atlanta continues having some huge problems on their outside shooting. They don't attempt a lot of treys, but when they attempt, they miss them: 16-64 (25%) 3pts this season! Sancho Lyttle is now gone for the Eurobasket, so the Dream have now one less option to score points on the down low. Atlanta need to create transition points and this will be tough against Seattle, who play on a halfcourt style. The Storm allowed just 4 fast break points on each of their last two games! 

On the other side, Seattle simply lacks offensive talent. They are an undersized team, so they will struggle in scoring down low against Atlanta, while they also struggle on their shooting: 0-17 3pts on their last game! Atlanta's defense has been great this season, so I expect them to shutdown Seattle's offense tonight, turning this game into a very low scoring contest. Therefore, I'll be taking the Under in here.
