WNBA Premium Play 08/22: Minnesota Lynx @ Connecticut Sun

WNBA - 601 Minnesota Lynx @ 602 Connecticut Sun

Projected Line: Minnesota by 13 points

Minnesota has lost four of their last five games and this has forced their coach Cheryl Reeve to hold a meeting with the team's captains after their last loss against Atlanta on Monday. Minnesota made a comeback against the Dream, but as their starters always play heavy minutes, they didn't have fresh legs down the stretch. The key for the Lynx's loss at Atlanta was the 19 turnovers that they committed, something that resulted in 25 points off turnovers and 24 fast break points to the Dream.

For tonight, the Lynx will be fired up and they'll crush the lowly Sun. Connecticut lost all their confidence after not being able to beat Chicago, even though they had a 23 points lead at one point. Their key guard Allison Hightower is out for the season, while Kara Lawson is also out due to personal problems. So, Connecticut will only have Tina Charles against the world for tonight's game, but Minnesota is a top paint defense and also an excellent defensive rebounding team. Minnesota's defense will focus on Charles and with that, the Sun's offense will heavily struggle. Therefore, I expect an easy win for Minnesota and so, I'll be taking them in here.

WNBA Premium Play 06/14: Minnesota Lynx @ Tulsa Shock

WNBA - 605 Minnesota Lynx @ 606 Tulsa Shock

Projected Line: 166 points

Minnesota's offense won't have problems in scoring against Tulsa, a team who is super turnover prone, who has a poor transition defense (15 fast break points allowed per game) and with no good interior presence, as Liz Cambage is still out due to injury. The Lynx had a terrible game at Washington, with a poor 99 offensive rating. That's poor for them as a 99 offensive rating isn't that bad league-wise. However, they had offensive ratings of 123.3, 128.1 and 115.5 on their first three games of the season and I expect them to get back at this level tonight. Minnesota certainly want to win on the road tonight after their loss at Washington, however they have a similar mindset to the Miami Heat. They don't show a lot of defensive effort, as their offense is good enough for them to keep winning comfortably.

Tulsa is still a work in progress, but they are an uptempo team who plays undersized, so they will want to run a lot tonight. They are coming from two low scoring games in a row, but they are at Seattle (half court team) and then a brutal back to back game at LA against the Sparks, where they had no legs. They are fresh for tonight, so I expect a very high scoring game in here. Therefore, I'll be taking the Over on this game tonight.

WNBA Premium Play 06/06: Phoenix Mercury @ Minnesota Lynx

WNBA - 601 Phoenix Mercury @ 602 Minnesota Lynx

Projected Line: 176 points

Minnesota showed on their season debut why they are one of the best teams in the league. Their offense just crushed the tired Sun with 50% FG, 24 assists, 15 fast break points and 44 points in the paint! Minnesota will easily score against teams that will want to run with them and Connecticut attempted that and got crushed! Minnesota scored "only" 90 points because they cooled off a bit on the fourth quarter with 12 points scored due to the fact that they had a massive lead already.

Luckily for the Lynx, they will be facing another team that will want to run with them once again. Phoenix lost their first two games of the season, while showing their usual defensive problems, with a lack of rebounding as well. The Mercury try to outscore the opponents, but they need a bit more time to install Brittney Griner on their system, but they have already improved on their last game against Seattle by shooting 49.2% FG! The problem for Phoenix was that game was played on half court and that benefited the Storm and not them, as they scored just 4 fast break points and shot just 1-4 3pts!

I expect a pure run and gun game today, with Minnesota having no problems to score tonight, while the Mercury should also have a good offensive performance as well. Brittney Griner has a favorable matchup against Janel McCarville, who isn't a good defensive player. Therefore, I expect a very high scoring game in here and so, I'll be taking the Over.
