NBA Premium Play 01/01: Atlanta Hawks @ New Orleans Hornets

NBA - 507 Atlanta Hawks @ 508 New Orleans Hornets

Projected Line: 181 points

New Orleans had two days to rest and prepare for this game, while Atlanta is on a terrible spot and they will play a road game tonight, with this game being their fourth in just five days! The Hawks are coming from a road loss in Houston last night, where they didn't have legs to keep with the Rockets potent offense in the score. The Hawks are very poor on defending the dribble penetrations of the opposing guards and they got crushed by the Rockets backcourt because of that.

“Not quite the way I wanted to finish 2012,” coach Larry Drew said. “I have to give credit where credit is due. This team is very hard for us to match up against. The fact is that they do such a phenomenal job off the dribble. We have a hard time defending this team off the dribble. They have four guys the starting lineup that can all make treys, are all good coming off the dribble.”

For tonight, Atlanta's spot isn't certainly good, but this will be a complete different matchup in comparison to last night, as the Hawks faced the fastest paced team in the league yesterday, while they will face the slowest paced team in the league tonight! The Hornets don't have the same weapons than the Rockets have on their backcourt to penetrate into the basket and take advantage of the Hawks poor defense on this kind of plays. Greivis Vasquez can make some penetrations, while the returning Eric Gordon can also make a few plays, but that is nothing comparison to the Rockets backcourt super quick penetrations. Atlanta has been also shorthanded especially on the backcourt, so I doubt they will be able to be consistent on offense on this very poor spot.

I expect a very slow pace in here, with both teams struggling on offense, therefore I'll be taking the Under in here.
