NBA Premium Play 04/07: Sacramento Kings @ Los Angeles Clippers

NBA - 515 Sacramento Kings @ 516 Los Angeles Clippers

Projected line: 207 points

This game will be a home-home series, but it isn't a back to back game, as the first game was last Thursday. I watched that game and my analysis of that game make me believe that today's game will be a shootout. The first relevant note is that the Clippers completely ran out of gas in the second half. They were able to sneak with the win in a game where they were close to lose it. Sacramento implemented a zone defense in the second half that coach Del Negro couldn't adjust to and the Clippers offense became really confused. Part of those struggles had to go with the fact that the Clippers were coming from a brutal physical game against the Lakers. Chris Paul struggled against Sacramento with 4-16 FG and 5 turnovers and the Clippers committed a total of 18 turnovers, while they shot just 6-17 FG in P&R ball handler plays and 7-20 FG in spot up plays. However, today with fresh legs, the Clippers won't have problems in scoring against the bad defense of the Kings.

On the other side, I also expect a better offensive game from Sacramento tonight. In the first game, Cousins just couldn't stay on the floor due to foul trouble and eventually he played just 18 minutes. Without Cousins and with Hayes playing major minutes, Sacramento had no real inside presence, which helped the Clippers defense. Still, Sacramento eventually scored 44 points in the paint and today I expect Cousins to have more minutes and his presence will spread the floor for Sacramento. So, today we will have two teams coming fired up for this game and with fresh legs, therefore I don't expect both teams to combine 9-36 in 3pts once again in tonight's game. I came up with a totals projection of 207 points and so, I'll take the Over in here.
