NBA Free Premium Play 04/07: Atlanta Hawks @ Charlotte Bobcats

Atlanta  at Charlotte

NBA - 501 Atlanta Hawks @ 502 Charlotte Bobcats

Projected line: 183 points

I was surprised yesterday with two late injuries from Charlotte, as DJ Augustin and Reggie Williams were late scratches and left the team with no bench and with their starting lineup with no scoring punch whatsoever. Charlotte was able to score 90 points in a relatively fast paced game, but note that the entire bench scored 2 points and shot 1-5 FG. With that, the starters had major minutes and when the player this season with the worst FG% in the league attempts 26 shots in a game, I don't need to mention anything else about the Bobcats' offense even against a mediocre defensive team like the Bucks. Charlotte will be playing their 4th game in 5 nights, with this game being also a back to back game. Having in account, DJ and Reggie will be also out for this game, I don't see the Bobcats to have any offensive improvements for tonight's game with the issue that this game will surely be played at a slower pace than yesterday's game.

On the other side, Atlanta is coming from two easy wins over the Bobcats and the Pistons. I took the over yesterday in their game against Detroit, as with that game being played on a good spot for Atlanta, who was rested and coming from home games, the Hawks wouldn't have problems in scoring. However, for today the spot isn't so good, as it is a back to back game against a team that was humiliated last week against them. The Hawks used Josh for 42 minutes, Teague 41 minutes and Johnson 37 minutes yesterday and so, they won't be fully fresh for today. In their last game against Charlotte, in which Atlanta scored 120 points, that game was played at a slow pace and so, the Hawks had an unbelievable offensive efficiency with an offensive rate of 136.8, while shooting 8-16 FG from 16-23 feet and 9-19 3pts! I remember that for that game, Atlanta was coming from 3 days off, while the Bobcats were on a back to back spot. The conditions for today are surely much effort and I also expect a better defensive effort from the Bobcats, while it won't be hard for Atlanta to stop the Bobcats' terrible offense. So, I'll be taking the Under on this contest.
