I think that we are getting some real nice value w/ STL tonight.

Michael Wacha has been pretty solid and his putrid 0-3 record on the road this season is almost exclusively because the fact that STL’s offense simply didn’t show up w/ scoring 1.40 runs per game in his 5 road games, while Wacha had 2.51 ERA! He has been well managed by his coach, so I expect him to be decent tonight.

On the other end, there are some serious question marks about Ventura’s health.  Ventura's type of injury is said to cause cartilage damage and a general instability to the UCL, and while structural damage has been ruled out for the time being, it could be just a matter of time before he experiences more serious issues with his arm.

He struggled badly in his L2 starts vs. CWS & HOU w/ 4 & 5 ER’s and I just can’t put on the same level of Wacha right now.
