NBA Free Premium Play 04/04: Indiana Pacers @ Washington Wizards

Indiana  at Washington

NBA - 701 Indiana Pacers @ 702 Washington Wizards

Projected line: 198 points | Indiana by 2 points

I took the under in the Pacers/Knicks game yesterday, but even though I correctly predicted the pace of the game and the fact that the team would have bad assists numbers (IND=18 & NYK=14), the offensive rates of both teams were over the roof (IND=126 & NYK=119). Note that Indiana had a good rotation due to the fact they went from a blowout loss to the win with reserves in the 4th quarter! The Pacers had a good inside game, with 17-26 FG at the rim and 9-16 FG from 3-9 feet! They also shot well in transition with 7-14 FG, offensive rebound plays with 6-7 FG and even spot ups with 8-17 FG! On the other hand, the Knicks were red hot from the outside and especially Indiana didn't stop anybody on 1*1 situations, as the Knicks shot 12-25 FG on ISO plays!

If we exclude the game at New Jersey last week, the Pacers offense has been playing well, while their defense is taking a step back. Their offensive improvement has been based on their rim offense, as they have been shooting 65% FG at the rim in their last 10 games, while they are just averaging 58% FG for the season. Indiana's spot for today is terrible (4th game in 5 days + back to back), so this is clearly a letdown spot for them. Considering the Wizards played two games against Indiana recently and almost won both, I expect Washington to be very competitive today.

After a series of games where they were competitive, the Wizards had no legs against Milwaukee in a similar spot to the one Indiana will have tonight. The Wizards' offense has been better lately, especially in being more clever in attacking the rim, with 74% FG in their last 5 games, while they are averaging 66% FG for the season. In the previous two games between these two teams, the pace was 87.5 and 88.4 and in those games, Washington shot 11-12 FG and 10-12 FG at the rim. Their problem was the low volume near the basket, but with a physical letdown spot from the Pacers, I expect better offensive numbers from Washington on this contest. I believe Washington has every condition to make this game very competitive and therefore, I'll take them in here.

Pick: 3 units (Single Dime Play) on 702 Washington Wizards (+5,5) @ -110 / 1.91 on Bookmaker
