NBA Premium Play 03/01: Oklahoma City Thunder @ Orlando Magic

NBA - 701 Oklahoma City Thunder @ 702 Orlando Magic

Projected lines: 196 points | Oklahoma City by 4 points

Oklahoma City is coming from a great win in Philadelphia last night, even though the Sixers perimeter defense did an excellent job on limiting both Durant and Westbrook. However, the Thunder did a fine job defensively as well and had a great rebounding edge with 19-13 on offensive boards, which helped them in getting the win together with a huge FT edge of 34-12! On the other end, Orlando is coming from a win in Washington where they were always in the lead since the beginning of the game, as they started the game on a 25-8 run. Their formula was the usual: 3pts shooting with 15-36! The Magic did very well on P&R's and not that good on spot up plays with 0.80 PPP and 8-23 FG! They had some problems on turnovers with 18, including Duhon who had 5 in just 16 minutes! Besides that, the Magic had a natural edge on boards with 16-12 in offensive boards and 40-27 in offensive rebound rate! This mostly happened due to the Wizards small lineup, as McGee was benched in that game.

Orlando's perimeter defense is not even close to the great level of the Sixers on this area. Holiday and Iguodala are great defenders and were able to stop Westbrook and Durant, however Nelson and Hedo won't be able to achieve such thing on this game, as their lack of speed will hurt Orlando in here. Therefore, we can expect a bounce back from the two best players of the Thunder tonight. On the other side, Orlando's offense will have Howard as a centerpiece. Oklahoma City has Perkins to defend him 1*1, but I don't think Perkins will have a lot of success today, which will lead to the Thunder to double team Howard and give open looks to the Magic's great outside shooting. Note that Sefolosha is still out, so Oklahoma City's perimeter defense continues to be weak. We have in here some edge for both offenses on this contest. Therefore, I will be taking the over in here. I will be also taking Oklahoma City tonight, as their motor is certainly more powerful than Orlando's and down the stretch the Thunder are much more reliable, especially when Orlando will heavily struggle in defending both Durant and Westbrook tonight.
