Also on this game, I expect effort to be the key and I believe Houston is in conditions to deliver their best effort and besides that, this is a revenge game from them, after being recently humiliated at home by the Wolves, while allowing a season high of 120 points! Minnesota had yesterday a dramatic game at New Jersey, where it looked like they gave it all to lose the game. Coach Adelman has now a completely healthy roster, but he isn't being able to find the best rotations or he doesn't simply trust some of this players, as yesterday Love played 42 minutes and Rubio 38 minutes, while Beasley for example played just 16 minutes! At the same time, Houston had a really easy home win against Phoenix, where they were able to rest some starters for tonight's game. Lowry played just 24 minutes, Martin 18 minutes, Dalembert 16 minutes and Scola 27minutes. Their bench was excellent and today, we will have a confident 2nd unit of the Rockets against a 2nd unit of the Wolves, whose rotation isn't still well defined!
In the last game between these two teams, Minnesota went to Houston score 120 points, while shooting 58% FG and that was thanks to an overconfident state of mind from the Rockets, who were coming from easy wins against Washington and the Knicks, having also easily won at Minnesota earlier in the season. This time they will come into this game much better prepared. The Rockets have some edges on this matchup, as Lowry is an excellent defender and he will put problems to Rubio, while Martin has a superior size edge against Ridnour and he will cause a lot of damage to the Wolves: 9-15 FG and 10-21 FG in the first two games between these two teams this season! Milicic will have a tough battle against Dalembert and only Love will have some edge over Scola, even though he is coming from a physical game at New Jersey yesterday and so, his spot for tonight won't be easy.
Matchup wise and especially situational wise, I expect Houston to have much better conditions to win this game and therefore, I'll take the Rockets to win this contest today.
